An MBA for mission-driven leaders

Business Skills Built to Serve a Mission, Not Just a Margin

Most MBA programs treat social impact as one elective bolted onto a curriculum built for for-profit management. The Social Impact MBA does the opposite: it builds nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, and impact measurement into the core curriculum, so you learn to run organizations that measure success by the good they do as well as the revenue or funding they bring in.

Many MBA vs. Master's in Nonprofit Management comparisons point out that an MBA carries broader recognition and a wider business skill set than a nonprofit-specific master's. Elton gives you that broader MBA, built 1-on-1 around a nonprofit, social enterprise, or B Corp instead of a generic case study.

Who this is for

Built for People Leading With a Mission

The Nonprofit Executive

You lead or want to lead a nonprofit. Your curriculum centers on nonprofit management: budgeting, board governance, program strategy, and funder relationships.

The Social Entrepreneur

You are building, or want to build, a mission-driven company, B Corp, or social enterprise. Your curriculum centers on impact measurement, mission-aligned fundraising, and scaling without losing your purpose.

The Development or Fundraising Leader

You raise money for a cause. You build fluency in major gifts, grants, and the financial management that keeps a mission-driven budget sustainable.

The Program Director

You run programs inside a nonprofit or social enterprise and want the business fundamentals to manage budgets, staff, and outcomes like an executive.

The Corporate Career Changer

You want to move your career from the private sector into nonprofit or social-impact leadership and need both the credibility and the nonprofit-specific skills to make that move.

The Foundation or Grantmaking Professional

You fund or evaluate mission-driven organizations and want deeper fluency in how they are actually run, financed, and measured.

What you master

The Six Domains of Mission-Driven Leadership

Your professors teach the same six domains every Elton 1-on-1 MBA student masters — business systems, strategy, technology, marketing, team dynamics, and personal mastery — through a mission-driven lens, plus the disciplines unique to this concentration:

  • Nonprofit Management — budgeting, board governance, program strategy, and the operating realities of running a mission-driven organization
  • Social Entrepreneurship — building and scaling a venture, B Corp, or social enterprise that creates financial and social value together
  • Impact Measurement — defining, tracking, and reporting the outcomes that prove an organization's mission is working
  • Mission-Aligned Fundraising — major gifts, grants, and mission-aligned capital, and the donor or funder relationships that sustain them
  • Stakeholder & Board Governance — working with boards, funders, and communities who all have a stake in the mission
  • Scaling Without Losing Purpose — growing budget, staff, and reach while keeping the mission, not the metrics alone, at the center

The Business Breadth of an MBA. Built for Mission-Driven Work.

A nonprofit-specific master's teaches the sector. A traditional MBA teaches the business skills. Elton gives you both, built around your mission.

A Master's in Nonprofit Management

Delivers sector-specific knowledge, but typically a narrower business skill set and less recognition outside the nonprofit sector than a full MBA.

A Traditional MBA with a Social Impact Elective

Delivers a strong general business foundation as a full-time, on-campus, one- or two-year cohort program costing $100,000-$200,000+, usually with social impact as one elective, not the core.

Elton's Social Impact MBA

Gives you 1-on-1 expert professors and a coach who build your curriculum around nonprofit management and social impact from day one, for $22,000 total, no GMAT, and a start date whenever you are ready.
