Break directly into tech as quickly as possible. Elton's challenging, hands-on approach to learning software engineering and AI will prepare you to join the tech industry. Very quickly, you will have the technical and theoretical knowledge and critical practical skills you'll need to get hired. Elton students are coached to get a job in tech as soon as possible in tech so they can "earn while they learn."
Join the Tech Revolution
This is an industry-integrated program in software engineering and AI you can complete in as quickly as 1 year. Or earn a master's certificate in software engineering and AI as quickly as 16-32 weeks.
Being a software engineer is challenging, interesting, well paid, and in high demand. With the advent of AI, software engineering has changed dramatically. Through a personalized and agile 1-on-1 approach, Elton has adapted to the rapidly changing landscape. Whether you want to be an expert in machine learning or quickly build and deploy apps using AI code generation, Elton can prepare you for what's coming next in tech.
The Elton software engineering & AI program was developed by our president Adam Braus, who has over a decade of experience designing and leading coding schools and colleges. He has trained dozens of professors and hundreds of students for success. Continue scrolling to learn what makes Elton's program more accessible and more successful than all the rest.
Credit for Past Learning & Stacking Credentials
At Elton, we believe in choice and freedom. Many people don't need a full 12 months of study to be ready
Full Program
8-18 months (36 credits | ~1000 hours)
Elton College's software engineering program has the rigor, depth, and professional development of a big university, with the personal committment and community of a small liberal arts school. The program has a generous transfer policy for credits you've already earned in IT, software engineering, and computer science. Elton reduces student's risk by having "stacking credentials" which means, a student can withdraw at any time and still be awarded a certificate, a diploma, a higher diploma, or bachelor's in computer science.
Our program has fully integrated career services. From day one, students are doing wayfinding with their professional coach about their career and professional goals. They are exploring various sorts of engineering and tech jobs while building job-ready professional and technical skills. Acing a technical interview and negotiating your first salary are key skills all students will master. Students are encouraged to "earn while they learn" by getting internships or full time jobs as soon as possible. Elton can and does award credit for assignments aligned with learning outcomes that students complete on the job.

Certificate Program
4-9 months (18 credits | 540 hours)
Come work 1-on-1 with professional software engineer instructors in Elton's entirely personalized, fully-accredited certificate bootcamp in computer science. Our instructors teach while working at major tech companies including Google, PayPal, IBM, Microsoft, and more. Whether you have years of preparation and want a capstone in interview prep and negotiation or you've never written a line of code, Elton's bootcamp is entirely personalized to your skill level, pace, and interests. You can work part time, or at an accelerated pace through our learning. You can specialize in any of the CS concentrations, or be a generalist. Every graduate receives career support and is part of the alumni network for life.
Other bootcamps are a cattle call where curriculum is not tailored to students' interests, pace, and values. Elton offers what no other bootcamp can—professional coaching and 1-on-1 tutoring along with a vibrant community of learners, instructors, and a valuable network of alumni.

YOU CAN DO IT
From Zero to Hero
You might feel like you can't become a software engineer unless you are a math wizard or a techno geek. This could not be further from the truth. Being a successful engineer only requires a grasp of middle school math, and anyone with the desire to pursue a career in software can do it. All it takes is the right teachers and school and diligent concentration.
Our professors together have decades of industry experience and a dense and valuable professional network into startups and FANG companies. Contrast that with other CS programs where your professors will have PhD's but little or no experience in industry and only an academic network.
There is no "I" in team, and nowhere is that more true than in software. All software is built together on teams. Elton is built to band students together into agile huddles, conferences, parties, contracting teams, technical concentrations, and study groups. Request More Information
Other computer science programs focus on lectures, dry theory, textbooks, and tests. Not Elton. Long ago at Elton we learned that people learn faster and better if they build real software for real people. Everyone starts off building step-by-step tutorials, then contractor projects, and then portfolio projects and internship projects.
Your degree helps you to succeed in tech, but it is not enough. At Elton you will receive support and coaching to build a digital portfolio of software. In addition, you will receive hundreds of hours of coaching and drilling in technical interviewing — probably the most difficult and important part of getting a job as a software engineer.
Our students are ready for their first job in tech after as few as 6 months. The Elton software & AI program is designed so you can continue to study while working full time. That means you can earn while you learn and earn credit for what you learn on the job.
From day one, you build projects you want to build. Research consistently shows that project-based learning is the most effective way to develop high-value skills like software engineering — so instead of contrived homework, you ship real things, solve real problems, and grow a portfolio that speaks for itself.
Master the Technical Interview
Technical interviewing is alive and well in the tech industry, and anyone serious about landing a great job needs serious preparation. Elton's proven interview training system drills you on exactly what hiring managers test for — so you walk into every interview ready to perform, not just ready to hope.
Build Your Network
In tech, what you know matters. Who you know matters just as much. Your coaches, professors, and advisors actively prepare you and assign you to build a robust network of technical colleagues, mentors, and industry contacts — so when opportunities open up, you're already in the room.
Software Engineering & AI Areas of Concentration
Everyone in the BCS program is working towardsbut students can declare one of Elton University's six concentrations—Software Solutions Architect, Web & Mobile Engineer, Platform Engineer, Data Analysis, Machine Learning, and Cybersecurity. These concentrations span most work you can do as a software engineer today. An Elton student can choose one of these concentrations or invent their own.
Recently supercharged by AI, software solutions architects design the systems that power modern products and companies. You'll learn to think at scale — translating complex business needs into elegant technical blueprints, leading engineering teams, and making high-stakes decisions about technology strategy. This concentration is for engineers ready to move from building features to building the future. Future jobs of Generalists include:
Software Architect, Product Engineer, CTO, VP of Engineering, CTO, Technical Program Manager, Technical Sales, Technical Recruiter.
Web Dev (WEB)
The internet lives in browsers and phones — and Web & Mobile Engineers build the experiences people use every day. You'll master full-stack development across web and native platforms, from responsive design to performant APIs and everything in between. You'll graduate with a portfolio of real, shipped products. Future careers include:
Backend engineers have a need for speed. Their jobs are to safely, securely, and quickly serve data to whoever requests it. They design and interact with databases. They build elegant and easy-to-use APIs. They dive into devops and architecture. Future jobs for BED include:
Backend Developer, CTO, Data Engineer, Software Architect.
Data Science (AI/ML)
Artificial intellegence, machine learning, and data science have experienced a boom in the last year. Data scientists who work with these new tools are less like engineers and more like ... well ... scientists! They use statistical algorithms, artificial intelligence, and large amounts of data to answer questions about the world. They might try to find out who is going to win an election or tell a marketing team how they should deliver ads. Future jobs for DS include:
Data Scientist, AI/ML Engineer, Data Analyst, Researcher .
Mobile Engineer (MOB)
Mobile engineers use specialized frameworks and computer languages to build beautiful and useful mobile applications we run on our phones. Future jobs for DS include:
Mobile Engineer, Mobile Lead, UX/UI Designer, Product Manager.
Cybersecurity (CYB)
Every connected system is a potential target — and skilled defenders are in short supply. The Cybersecurity concentration trains you to think like an attacker and defend like an expert. You'll develop deep expertise in threat detection, secure system design, incident response, and risk management — preparing you for one of the highest-demand fields in technology.
